This is a journey along the famous Silk Road trade route through the breathtaking Gobi desert and its bordering "sand-lake". Visiting Yingchuan city (the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region) and Zhongwei city.

Ningxia is located in northwestern China, south of Inner Mongolia. The region was historically a key trading centre. In recent years, Ningxia has obtained new fame as the home of Goji Berries.

The Sand-Lake: borders the Gobi desert at the foot of Mount Helan.

The Tomb of the Western Xia King:also known as the Oriental Pyramids.

Stone Paintings of Mount Helan. Animal totems record a nomadic history.

The West Film Studio, Home of Red Sorghum and other works of Chinese cinema.

A Goji Berry farm. Goji berries, or "red diamonds' as they are known by the locals, are exported across the globe, helping to improve the local economy.

The Culture Garden of Hui Minorities: has the largest Hui culture Museum in the country, which was built in a shape of the Hui Chinese charactor 回

108 Pagodas: were built in a form of a triangle with 12 layers and 1、3、3、5、5、7、9、11、13、15、17、19 odd numbers of pagodas in each layer. The unique layout remains a myth in the Buddhism architecture.

Shapotou: located in the south-east end of the fourth largest desert in China, Tengger desert. Famous for the successful stabilization of the sand dunes and the rafts made of blow-up goat skins - Yang Pi Fazi

Gao Miao: a 600 years old temple within Zhongwei, that hosts Confucius, Buddhism and Taoism worshiping statues within.

Ningxia Museum: was built in 1999 as a tribute for the 50th anniversity of the People's Republic of China.
