Rugged Tours - Beijing Essential

Beijing is the capital of this ancient, vast, evolving and exciting country. The city itself and The Great Wall undulating in the outskirt of the city symbolize this country. But where to start and what to include while you are in Beijing on your time limited travel schedule?

Rugged Tours have mapped out a few essential routes for every China visitors to pick and fit in your own travel schedule. Each route is a one day package tour with optional sites for you to choose from. From world famous heritages to cultural rich local “Hutong” experience, these routes give you a full dimension of Beijing.

Route One - Beijing Central Tour

Tiananmen Square, the largest city square on earth in the very centre of Beijing.

Mao Zedong's Memorial Hall, contains the embalmed body of Chairman Mao

The Forbidden City, remainded closed to ordinary citizens for 500 years.

The Prince Gong's Mansion, the most fully reserved Qing Dynasty prince mansion heritage. (admission fee: 70RMB/person)

 

Route Two - Beijing Excursions

The Great Wall(badalin section), undulating up the steep hills and pretecting the emperors from the northern "barbarians"

The Ming Tombs, where all but three Ming dynasty rulers were entombed within the very valley.

Optional site:

The Ming Wax Museum, a wax relication of the Ming dynasty royal families and their stories. (admission fee: 40RMB/person)

 

 

Route Three - Historical Parks and Pavilions

The Temple of Heaven Park, the emperors' ritual ceremony site, featuring 15 century architecture.

The Summer Palace, royal family's back garden, a perfect blend of natural & manmade beauty.a.k.a. Park of Natured Harmony.

Optional site:

Yuan Ming Yuan, the garden of perfect splendor with its ghostl ruins still charms people from all over the world. (admission fee: 35RMB/person)

 

 

Route Four - 2008 Beijing Olympic sites

Olympic Park, the operation headquarter of 2008 Olympic Games

National Stadium, a.k.a. Bird's Nest, the main stadium for 2008 Olympic Games

Route Five - From confucius temple to Journey in the local "hutong"
